Mesut Ozil repayed Mourinho's faith in him by playing a wonderful game on his home debut and Real Madrid's league home debut. Even though not the most "beautiful" football was played, Madrid found the golden touch in one of the most strangest ways as a early second half goal from none other than the marauding centre back Ricardo "Riccy" Carvalho as he slammed home a deft pass from Ronaldo after a wonderful counter-attack break by Mesut Ozil.
In other news, Barcelona were downed by a Herculian effort and brace from Nelson Valdez as Hercules brought Barcelona to its feet in the Nou Camp in front of 80,000 shouting fans.
